Submission guidelines
Looking to get published by us? These are guidelines rather than hard and fast rules, but here's a general idea of what we're looking for:
1) Self-contained stories between 24 and 160 pages. We're not currently seeking collections of short comics, or works intended to be serialized over a long period of time.
2) Work by solo creators or, at most, two-person teams.
3) Comics that fit with our existing lineup. Our focus is on emotionally driven stories with a hand-drawn aesthetic; a poetic, punk, or experimental bent is a plus.
This one is a hard and fast rule:
4) We are not currently accepting works that use AI, and will continue to do so as long as the AI industry profits off of genocide, accelerates environmental devastation, and violates artists' copyright without consent or compensation. This rule applies to AI usage at any point in the creation process.
How do I submit?
Email us! We're a busy two-person team but will do our best to respond within a few weeks.
If you're pitching an already completed comic, send us a full PDF. Otherwise, include a synopsis of your comic and few pages of finished art in the intended style, plus a script and/or thumbnails if you have them.
Where are other good places to submit?
Silver Sprocket, Fieldmouse Press, and Bulgilhan all have open submissions periods for fiction and memoir. Crucial Comix takes submissions of nonfiction and educational comics.
